ULMAN - Electrokustica

When I present now a band with hurdy-gurdy, accordion and trombone everybody will probably think in the wrong direction. Although ULMAN plays old instruments they make definitely contemporary music as the title of the album Electrokustica says. There is much electronics, samples, programmed sounds which create a characteristic sound in the best sense of the word.
ULMAN are four boys from Leipzig, two brothers and a cousin named Uhlmann. They have got the folk music from their parents, have studied music and were the folk wonderchildren in the nineties. Now with their third album they have perfected their vision and they can stand the competition absolutely - also internationally. Nobody has tried it yet. Medieval meets Clubsound, many original song ideas, so it pays to hear their music - let us listen in one of the song which seems to be program: „No more jazz, no more folk"...
